Currently. the annual membership cost is $1,100 per institution plus 23¢ per pupil from the previous year's official enrollment count. The maximum school district membership fee is $3,450.

Why should our school district join the Metro Bureau?

You really can't afford not to join the Bureau. Our dues are extremely reasonable. They haven't been increased in ten years! Our web services are unmatched anywhere.

The Metro Bureau has a survey process that will get answers to your most perplexing concerns in a matter of hours.

Our data is unmatched anywhere in the State of Michigan or in the mid-west for that matter. That data is available through our web page, as is our contract search engine that gives you full access to participating district contracts through an amazing key-word search process. Other organizations charge for this service. At the Bureau it is part of the membership service.

At a time when the foundation grant increases are lagging and the budget is getting tight, you need the Bureau to help you develop strategies for saving money through consortia purchasing and strategic budgeting.

We have budget and negotiation specialists on our staff who are experienced and able to provide that extra edge for you at no additional cost.

And don't forget ... if you need legal advice, counseling or assistance, the Executive Director, Tom McLennan is available on a 24 hour basis.

Here is what some of our members have to say about the Metro Bureau :

"It is without reservation that I recommend all districts in the area to join the Metro Bureau and take part in the many activities they provide. I cannot imagine being a new Human Resource Administrator and not having access to these services. Having become a 'veteran' Human Resource Administrator, I cannot imagine being without this group to compare and clarify issues that confront us all every day... Take advantage of it"

Jim C. Juras
Director of Personnel
Fraser Public Schools

"We have received critical and current information essential to our district's operation. Whether through conferences, fax surveys or telephone response, the information requested is fast and reliable. We compliment the Metro Bureau on its professionalism and commitment to assist public education."

Leonard Rezmierski, Ph.D.
Superintendent
Northville Public Schools

"The Metro Bureau has been an invaluable resource to me personally and the three school districts with whom I've been affiliated over a span of twenty years. Opportunities to network with a myriad of human resource and labor relations professionals abound. The Bureau seminars, publications and action research services far exceed in value the nominal fees for membership. Without hesitation I can honestly say that I am proud to be a member."

Terrel M. LeCesne
Executive Director of Operations and Labor Relations
Ypsilanti Public Schools

"...Access to significant savings in gas and electricity has become even more important in these days of financial constraints. In addition, the seminars provide up-to-date information at a reasonable cost for continued staff development of our administrators. Perhaps most important, at least on a personal level, has been the opportunity to converse with superintendents from other school districts to share our thoughts on important pressures and forces shaping public education today..."

James Giesler, Ph.D.
Superintendent
Walled Lake Consolidated Schools

"The information received from the Metro Bureau has been invaluable at the bargaining table. More specifically, the salary and fringe benefit reports for certified, as well as non-certified personnel have proven to be an effective negotiating 'barometer.' An additional service, which has been extremely helpful, is the Metro Bureau survey process. Any time I have personnel/administrative questions, which requires research, I contact the Metro Bureau. If the Bureau does not have the information on file, they will generate a survey and request a response from area districts. I have found this to be an efficient and effective means of garnering new ideas and approaches."

M. Louise Williamson
Director of Personnel
Van Buren Public Schools

"It is the best single source of good ideas available as we struggle to avoid 're-inventing the wheel.'"

Paul Rogers
Director of Human Resources
Anchor Bay School District
